Why would a judge step down from the bench to run for State Attorney?  That’s the question everyone is asking, and it deserves an answer.  But sometimes the best answer takes the form of another question. 

          If our State Attorney’s office was handling a case that was important to you, would you have confidence that it would be handled properly?  Sitting in the courtroom the past three years convinced me beyond a shadow of a doubt that I could not have that confidence.  The Girls Gone Wild fiasco was just a sample of how cases are mishandled.

          We need to do better.  As a judge, I saw how we can do better.  And, as State Attorney, I will build a better prosecutor’s office.  You deserve it, our law enforcement officers deserve it, but more importantly, justice demands it.
